GTA 6 PC Requirements
Short answer: there are none yet. Rockstar has not announced a PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI, so no official minimum or recommended PC specs exist. This page separates what is confirmed from what we estimate, and explains exactly how our PC compatibility checker reaches its verdict.
Officially confirmed
- Release date: 19 November 2026.
- Platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
- PC version: not announced.
- PC system requirements: not published.
Verify this yourself on Rockstar's official GTA VI page. If a PC version is announced, requirements will appear there first.
Still unknown
Whether and when a PC version ships, its real minimum and recommended specs, its storage footprint, which upscalers or frame generation it supports, and how it performs on any specific graphics card. Anyone quoting exact "official" or "leaked" PC specs today is guessing.
Our estimated tiers
These are our own estimates, not Rockstar's. They start from the console version's analysed performance and from the requirements of comparable open-world PC games, and they will be replaced with the official figures if and when they are published.

How the checker decides
Everything runs in your browser. For each tier, each component gets a pass, borderline or fail, and the tier's overall verdict is the worst of the five.
- CPU and GPU are given a relative performance score from our own ranking of each chip against the others in the list. It is a rough comparison, not a benchmark result. You pass a tier if your score meets its threshold, and are borderline if you are within 20% of it.
- RAM passes at the tier's amount (16 GB for Minimum, 32 GB for Ultra) and is borderline within 25% of it.
- Storage needs 150 GB free. Drive type is ranked HDD → SATA SSD → NVMe SSD → PCIe Gen4 NVMe. One step below the tier's type is borderline, more than one is a fail.
- Operating system: Windows 10 or 11 passes, and Windows 10 is borderline on tiers we expect to prefer Windows 11. Linux and macOS fail because no supported version exists.
The frame-rate figures in results are the target of the tier you reach, not a measured prediction for your PC. Laptop GPUs usually run slower than the desktop cards they share a name with, so treat a laptop result as optimistic.

Digital Foundry's analysis of Trailer 2 — captured on PS5, roughly 1440p upscaled to 4K at 30fps, with ray tracing and FSR1-like reconstruction. This is the single most useful datapoint we have: it anchors what console-equivalent performance looks like, which is where our tier estimates start.
How To Spot A Fake Spec Sheet
Search results for "GTA 6 system requirements" are dominated by pages presenting invented numbers as fact, usually to sell something. We are not going to link to them, but you can recognise them yourself. Treat a page as unreliable if:
- It calls the specs "confirmed", "official", or "leaked" — Rockstar has published none, so there is nothing to confirm or leak.
- It lists exact figures (a precise GB count, a named GPU per tier) with no link to where those numbers came from.
- It sells something on the same page — game keys, boosting, prebuilt PCs, or hardware affiliate links.
- It carries no author byline, no publication date, or a date that silently changes to stay "current".
- It cites another blog that cites another blog, with no primary source anywhere in the chain.
By that standard this site is an estimate too — which is why we label it as one on every page, and why our figures will be replaced with Rockstar's the day they publish them.
