GTA 6 PC REQUIREMENTS FAQ
Quick answers to what PC gamers ask most. Remember: until Rockstar publishes official specs, every number here is an educated estimate — see our GTA 6 PC requirements page for sources and methodology.
▶What are the GTA 6 system requirements for PC?
Rockstar has not published official PC requirements yet. Based on comparable open-world titles (Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2), we estimate the minimum at an Intel Core i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, a GTX 1660 Super or RX 5600 XT, 16 GB RAM and a SATA SSD with 150 GB free. For the recommended tier, think i5-12600K / Ryzen 5 7600 with an RTX 3070 or RX 6750 XT and an NVMe SSD. We will replace these estimates with the official specs the day Rockstar publishes them.
▶Can my PC run GTA 6?
Use the free checker at the top of this page: pick your CPU, GPU, RAM, storage and operating system from the dropdowns (or hit auto-detect) and you get an instant verdict against four performance tiers — Minimum, Recommended, Ultra/1440p and 4K Ultra. Everything runs locally in your browser; your specs are never uploaded.
▶When does GTA 6 come out on PC?
GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19 November 2026. A PC version: not announced. Rockstar has historically shipped PC versions well after consoles — GTA V took about 18 months, Red Dead Redemption 2 about 13 — so most estimates put a PC release in late 2027 or 2028.
▶How much RAM will GTA 6 need?
16 GB is the safe minimum assumption for a 2026+ AAA open-world game, and our estimates use exactly that. For the Ultra and 4K tiers we expect 32 GB to be the comfortable target. 8 GB will almost certainly be below minimum.
▶Do I need an SSD for GTA 6?
Almost certainly yes. Modern open-world games stream huge amounts of asset data, and both console versions of GTA 6 run from NVMe storage. Expect an SSD to be a hard requirement and an NVMe drive to be recommended — a mechanical hard drive is very unlikely to be supported.
▶Will GTA 6 run on a gaming laptop?
A laptop with an RTX 3070-class GPU or better should handle 1080p comfortably based on our estimates. Keep in mind that laptop GPUs are slower than the desktop cards that share their name — often by 20-30% — so treat a laptop verdict as one tier more optimistic than reality.

The world your PC will eventually have to render: dense neon streets, period cars and a huge skyline. These are console images from Rockstar and say nothing about PC performance.
